Successful Fundraising at the Department Level


It takes leadership and a great team of people to raise more than $400 million in a campaign, and this includes the College’s 85+ departments and units. In a pre-campaign survey, Michigan alumni told us they cared about their academic departments and wanted to support work being done there.  I led an effort to have every department in the College define their needs and create a compelling fundraising “product” sheet that outlined clear giving priorities for donors. This templated approach fueled successful fundraising at the department and unit level and all priorities were pre-approved by the dean.
